FAQ

Candle FAQ:

1. What type of wax do we use and WHY...

100% Natural Non-GMO soy wax. We use soy wax versus other waxes simply due to the harmful VOC's other waxes contain that can cause respiratory illness, allergies, developmental delays and reproductive issues. Soy wax burns cooler which in turn creates a longer lasting candle. Soy wax produces less smoke and soot due to a lower melting point which is better for everyone's health. Soy wax is all natural and comes from a renewable resource in the ground, is biodegradable, completely non-toxic and vegan.

2. What type of oils do we use and WHY...

Vegan plant based essential oils created for candles which are SLS, SLES, paraben, phthalate and cruelty free. Our oils are made to withstand candle heat temperatures and throw a wonderful hot throw and cold throw smell in your home. We create our own proprietary scents at home.

3. What type of wicks we use and WHY...

100% organic cotton wicks with no lead (banned in USA) or zinc as many other wicks contain. Our wicks do create a small amount of soot which is completely natural and ok for your health. Our wicks create a more even and consistent burn to create a longer lasting candle and enhance the scent throw. With a more consistent flame and no harmful chemicals being produced in the air, this is why we choose organic cotton wicks for our candles.

4. Our process to create candles

All our candles are created and hand- poured right in our home and shipped directly to YOU. We created everything from the labels, colors, scents, designs and the website. This is a family owned and operated business and we work together to create the best candles with the highest quality ingredients we can source here in the USA.

5. Candle guidelines once received:

First burn: at least 3-5 hours or until there's a full wax melt pool
Burn times will vary depending on how long you burn the candle each time
Burn away from wind/drafts to create a more consistent burn and no tunneling

Wick: Trim your wick 1/4"-1/2" before each burn to prevent soot buildup and uneven inconsistent burning

Flame over 3": Trim the wick down some if the flame created is this large or larger

Mushrooming wicks: simply trim the mushroom off but don't trim the wick too short

Oops...I cut a short wick: This will create a lower scent throw, small flame and possibly tunneling of the candle wax.
If this happens...simply light your candle and pour some hot wax out of your candle to help create more room at the base of the wick to create a larger flame and get your candle back on track!

Keep candle under 80 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent melting

Blowing candle out: To prevent excess smoke when blowing your candle out you can use a snuffer to extinguish the flames

Remove old wax from container: You can poor hot water (almost boiling) into the candle vessel to free the remaining wax/wick and have a clean container for other uses at home!
